The DRGs are included on this CD-ROM as individual quadrangles with the map collar information. In addition, all of the quadrangles that cover the National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) have had the boundaries clipped and mosaiced together, to provide a seamless map of the NERR. The Protected Areas Geographic Information System project provided each NERR with a fully integrated geographic information system (GIS), encompassing spatial data and Internet capabilities. One of the essential GIS data layers being compiled for each Reserve was the DRG. LOGICAL CONSISTENCY REPORT: These data are believed to be logically consistent, though no tests were performed. COMPLETENESS REPORT: These data were received from USGS and processed for the PAGIS project. The maps are from different years but represent the most current data USGS provides. HORIZONTAL POSITIONAL ACCURACY REPORT: While the datum of the published map is retained to be consistent with other USGS digital data, this image is cast on the UTM and may be INCONSISTENT with the credit note on the image collar. VERTICAL POSITIONAL ACCURACY REPORT: Refer to the DRG collar for information about vertical positional accuracy. PROCESS DESCRIPTION: The original DRG's were converted in ArcINFO from TIFF to GRID files, mosaiced, and exported back out as a TIFF file. This mosaic of DRGs which covered the study area was imported into Erdas Imagine and projected. The files were then exported to SunRasterfiles and compressed with MrSID. For processing of the quadrangles which was completed by the USGS, please see the individual .fgd files included on the CD.
